Not too long ago, the HoTMaiL phenomena managed to get millions of users to signup for a web-based email account. This popular service was designed to work in any browser, and it essentially solved the problem many users had when switching ISP’s. Flash-forward a few years, and this has since transformed into Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail and undergone a complete transformation.

Imagine my chagrin when Microsoft Visual Studio prompts me with this somewhat cryptic error message: Unable to start debugging, the binding handle is invalid.
While the cost of storage has been in free-fall for as long as the PC has been on the desk, the principals behind storage have remained fundamentally the same. In most cases, personal storage is directly connected to your workstation and in networked environments a NAS or fileshare provides addressable storage over the WAN. Unfortunately, even large scale SAN’s don’t really provide true ubiquity of storage, and as such someone must pay careful attention to the integrity of the primary storage devices.
