Once again, it is time to look into the crystal ball and take stock of the business of technology in the new year. Some of my predictions from last year have come to pass while a few from the years before are still trying to have their day in the sun. Annual 2011 Predictions

This is the time of year that industry pundits begin crafting prognostications for the upcoming year. While 2010 has certainly proven itself a year of great new technology, it seems like 2011 may bring up paradigm shifts and battles over intellectual capitol. Where is Starbuck’s?

Over the past few years, Starbucks has been embroiled in a succession of business transitions. At first, they started to try serving lunch, and then they explored the idea of a cooked breakfast menu which was followed soon after with Pike’s Place. Unfortunately, the results have been less than satisfactory and now Starbucks is grasping at even more outlandish ideas when perhaps they should be more focused on their core business.
